Once you've decided to start therapy with me, I will send you paperwork through the secure client portal for you to complete that includes consents, practice policies, and questionnaires to get us started. These forms will be completed prior to your first appointment.
The first session is also known as the intake assessment. Our focus during this session will be getting to know each other. I will ask about your background, current concerns, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions and ensure that you feel comfortable with my approach.
I understand it can be awkward talking to a stranger about very personal issues at first. That's why I will not push you to talk about anything you are not comfortable with. Your comfortability in our therapy sessions is very important to me.

The frequency of therapy sessions varies depending on individual needs and circumstances. Many clients find that weekly or bi-weekly sessions are effective, especially at the beginning of therapy. As you progress, we can discuss adjusting the frequency to best support your journey.

I understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a late cancellation fee. This fee is equivalent of the self-pay rate of the service you booked. This fee also applies to any sessions that are "no call, no show". This policy helps ensure that I can accommodate other clients who may need assistance.

Out-of-network (OON) benefits refer to the portion of therapy costs that your insurance may reimburse when you see a therapist who is not in your insurance network. If I do not accept your insurance, I can assist you in verifying your OON benefits using Thrizer. This service can also help you navigate submitting claims to your insurance company. Please note that you are responsible for paying the full service fee at the time of service.

Currently, I only offer telehealth sessions to provide flexible and accessible care. However, I hope to have an in-person office in Greenwood, Indiana, in the future, which will allow for additional options for clients who prefer face-to-face sessions.
